Meet the Founder!
Hi! My Name is Niveah Gandhi, founder of WearKind, an adaptive clothing brand created to help people of all abilities feel comfortable and confident in what they wear.
The idea for WearKind began after I volunteered with Starcatchers, a theater program for individuals with special needs. I supported performers as they prepared for the stage, helping with costumes, encouraging them, and building their confidence. I was inspired by their joy, determination, and optimism. I formed real friendships and saw how impactful it is when people feel seen and supported.
At the same time, I’ve always been involved in the performing arts. I’ve performed in school and community theater, I’m part of the National Children’s Choir, and I’ve had the opportunity to perform Off-Broadway in New York City.
These experiences led me to explore a future in developmental pediatrics. I’ve shadowed pediatricians, pulmonologists, and allergists to better understand the clinical side of care. I also volunteered at Scottish Rite Hospital and the UT Southwestern Summer Youth Program, earned my CNA and CPR certifications, and completed a research project analyzing ChatGPT responses for pediatric pain management.
All of these experiences inspired me to start WearKind, where I bring together my interests in healthcare, creativity, and inclusion. Adaptive clothing is one small way to help people feel empowered in their everyday lives.
